A Memorable Departmental Tour to Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Complex and Mawa Ghat. 08-11-2024

1. A Journey of New Beginnings

Only a few days had passed since we joined the university. Most of us were still unfamiliar with many of our seniors. To strengthen the relationship among students of different batches, our department arranged a tour on 8 November 2024. As the newest members of the department, we were excited to be part of this experience.

2. Exploring the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Complex

Our first destination was the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Complex. We explored the historic residence of the renowned scientist and learned about his life and contributions. The library was particularly fascinating, as it contained letters and documents connected with foreign writers and distinguished personalities. The visit offered both knowledge and inspiration.

3. Music, Friendship, and Fun

After exploring the complex, we gathered beside a pond where everyone enjoyed a musical session. Debashish Sir, one of the organizers of the tour, sang several beautiful songs. Students and teachers joined together, creating a lively and friendly atmosphere. Various games and activities also helped us become closer to one another.

4. Tasting the Flavours of Mawa

Our next destination was Mawa Ghat. By the time we arrived, everyone was hungry. A delicious lunch was arranged, including Hilsa fish, shutki bhorta, dal, and other traditional dishes. Sharing a meal together made the experience even more enjoyable.

5. Discovering the Beauty of the Padma River

After lunch, we spent time beside the Padma River, taking photographs and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Later, we boarded a launch and travelled to a nearby char. The vast open landscape, fresh air, and natural beauty made the place unforgettable.

6. Creating Lasting Memories

The char became the centre of our enjoyment. We took photos, recorded videos, participated in running competitions, and played various games. As evening approached, we returned by bus with unforgettable memories. The tour successfully strengthened our friendships and helped us feel more connected to our department.
